That is exactly right.

Who knew we would be reviving the old cry, "Let Phil sing!" I love it now when Phil sings.

This is really worth listening to ... repeatedly:

thus I have to take back my recent claim that I wouldn't normally stream Furthur in preference to the Grateful Dead. I have listened to this obsessively!

It's a good song. Thanks.

Did you notice the video on the right bar? An original version of same from the Perro sessions with Jerry, David Crosby, Slick, & Kantner. Serendipity.

yeah, I listened to that too, and so did my husband who announced to my surprise that the Furthur version was better. He said the song is better for old guys with craggy voices.

Thanks. Haven't heard that yet, but I'm curious. I'll click on it and begin the looooong sloooooooow Third World buffering process and let you know what I think later ...

Btw, have you heard Colors of the Rain? As usual, I didn't look at the set list before listening to the show; generally I like to hear something blind the first time. (OK, obviously I'll look at a setlist if I download/favorite etc., but then it's usually a while before I actually sit down and listen.) So when that started, I was caught by surprise. It emerged out of a jam and was really mesmerizing, and kinda sounded like a Phil composition, but I didn't recognize it!

Of course I thought I was just being ignorant (quite possible) and it was probably some 90s song I wasn't familiar with. Later on, I looked it up, and it turns out to be a new PL/Hunter tune. Gotta admit I've also listened to that one repeatedly, too ...

Boy, that's a really nice song. I'll be playing it again, too :-)

You may have seen this, but here's something I found when I googled it. Brian Lesh writes about how it came about:
